Continuation from Xmas Tree Ridge (or the increasingly vague end of the forestry track) down the Strone (the nose/ridge/spur**) and exit via Strone Wood.
A useful trail to open up longer routes down to Arden and allowing loops with Stoneymollan or return to Helensburgh via the A818 cycle path.
The last part of the trail (30 metres) from the edge of the forest to the new forestry track is very rough across newly cleared forest (stumps, some brush and hollows). Possibly hike-a-bike unless improved.
Consider going left at end of the forest to continue down next to the forest before turning R to follow L of a burn to meet the new forestry track.
Exit via the new forestry tracks to join older, established farm tracks.
WARNING - When following forestry tracks keep right to avoid going down dead-end ones which have a long climb back up
Could be ascended: the trail itself is ok but some of the approach forestry tracks are steep!
(** 'strone' is an anglicised spelling of the Gaelic word 'sròn' which literally means a nose!)
Descend the Xmas Tree Ridge trail (or along the increasingly vague forestry track).
