This section of trail is a reasonable climb with short steep sections, lots of fun to come back down. The trails above are more demanding. Rocky and coarser soils here do drain quickly after a summer rain, but shade keeps snow around until May.

4/11/26 first mile is pretty clear, rest is patchy snow or large sections of ice. 3 very large trees over the trail.

Rain event caused a massive rock slide and total FUBAR of the trail just below and further above the branch for the north fork of the Truman lollipop.
