The Upper Big Sandy Trail starts at intersection with the Lower Big Sandy Trail (BST) and Carlson Tie trails and ends at the Main Ridge Rd. opposite the Rat Pac trail.

Spring 2026 Update: The trail section from the intersection with Paul's trail down to the Main Ridge Rd was called "Upper Rat Pac". That section of trail is actually on Teanaway Community Forest land. The DNR as part of the Teanaway Community Forest Trail Plan, is incorporating Upper Rat Pac into the Upper Big Sandy trail. Signs are in the process of going up.

The trail is mostly in the shade and has good grades for climbing and good sightlines for descending. Exposed portions of the trail can be sandy in the summer. This is a two-way multiuse trail. The trail was built and is maintained by volunteers from the Kittitas Chapter of the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance with assistance from the WTA and Mountains to Sound Greenway.
