Trailhead access is North of the Lower Dewey Lake Loop. Demanding hike, ascending over 3000' in 3 miles. 19 switchbacks to the first bridge, and that is about halfway to the lake. Reward is amazing.
Reservable cabin at the lake through the Skagway Recreation Center. There is also a free "squatter's" cabin available on a first come, first served basis.
Please do not cross meadow before reservable cabin. Stay on trail.
