The trail follows an old US West right-of-way connecting the Rattlesnake with East Missoula. From the Rattlesnake side it starts as a wide path with a moderate grade. The trail narrows as in climbs before reaching a very steep final pitch. It then traverses above the highway and drops down on fun singletrack traversing a steep hillside to East Missoula.
