The V&T Trail follows the alignment of the old Virginia and Truckee Railroad Grade on a tread of mixed dirt road and wide singletrack. It has a mellow grade, around 2 percent max, and is mostly non-technical. There are numerous singletrack offshoots from the main trail and a couple of short steep climbs that up the technicality a bit. This is a great trail to take novice riders on to introduce them to dirt.
