Cross-country trail that climbs west from the 5010 and 500 road intersection up to the peak of the mountain it is named after, then descends to Lewisburg Saddle. Mix of adopted old unauthorized trail with new sections of sustainable bench-cut trail. The descent off the mountain towards the saddle starts with swooping flat to off-camber turns that lead out to a view of the Soap Creek valley overlooking Nettleton and Davies roads. Past the view, the trail cuts away from the original (unauthorized) trail with a hard left and transitions to bench-cut singletrack on its way to the saddle with a little bit of sidehill exposure to the south.

Trail is a mix of natural tread singletrack with some bench cuts and mild sidehill exposure, with a short segment of gravel doubletrack (logging road spur) in the middle.

OSU has officially marked this trail as not to be ridden when travel on the trail disturbs the trail tread.

Access Info

Multiple access points. The trail starts at the intersection of Nettleton Rd (Road 500) with the spur road to the top (Road 5010). At the top there is a short bit of trail (not mapped) that cuts in from the radio towers to the main line. A second spur drops onto a gravel road that descends to Road 500; watch for the sharp left to stay on the main line. Finally there is another break in the trail where it drops onto a logging road before resuming again as singletrack. The bottom of the trail is about 50 yards inside the gates on the east side of the Saddle parking area.
