This trail provides access to the top of Vulcan Peak (4,655 Feet), an old fire lookout site on the southwest edge of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness. A magnificent view rewards the traveler. To look down into Vulcan Lake, you must walk along the ridge off the trail, so be careful. There is no trail access to the lake from here, but a short drive will take you to the next trailhead for the trail to Vulcan Lake Trail #1110A.
