This is a multi use trail, but it's far enough out that you don't see a lot of traffic from bicycles, but it does get motorized traffic..
Windy Gap is considered both the top black trail and the lower Blue trail, but since Milma bisects it you get two trail descriptions.
It is a rugged trail that will require some downhilling skill to enjoy. It has chunky rocks at the top and big jumps lower down, and is difficult to access shall EMS be required.
If you start at the top there is about a mile of uphill and flat before you hit the good stuff. After that there is a 1 mile section of steep loose granite rock single track abused by ATVs and motos, very technical. This becomes a double track-wide trail that is groomed and super fast or rutted and destroyed depending on the last time it was worked on, and is all downhill. There are so many jumps here you will lose count. Also some very nice berms. The lower area is definitely designed around dirt bikes, but is still just as much fun on a long-travel mtb. The groomed section is about 2 miles long and runs directly into the parking lot, below that is gravel road downhill to the pavement of CCC Camp Rd.
Getting to the trail top requires quite a bit of gravel FS road riding, and riding up is not recommended. Bear Creek/Potato Patch Rd/Windy Gap trail/ CCC Camp road/Shaker Rag (or Pinhoti 2-1) is a common loop that will take advance riders 3-4 hours. It is a great downhill and many think one of Georgia's best.
