Pines and Oaks woodland. This is the highest wooded point on Laguna Mt. You can see views of San Diego, Point Loma, and the Channel Islands. Brochures are available on weekends at the Visitor Information Center on Laguna Mt. No equestrians permitted on the trail. Expect to encounter hikers and families.
The grade is easiest to ride from west to east. Descending the eastern slope will be a challenge due to steepness, sharp drops over stone steps and roots. Descending the western slope is rewarded with great downhill flow for over a mile.
Beware of taking the wrong trail at the eastern trailhead. This trail and the Wooded Hill Nature trail start within 50 feet of each other. The nature trail is closed to bikes. Take the northern entrance for this trail and avoid the southern entrance for the nature trail.
I-8 east to Sunrise Highway to Wooded Hill Road. Vehicles should parking across from Wooded Hills Campground.
