This classic Wellington singletrack starts at the summit and descends along the north ridge down towards Vertigo, Varley's and T4.
It used to be a two way track but was changed to downhill only when the top two-thirds was upgraded by TGL in mid 2020. Berms were rebuilt, plus the drainage and surface were fixed to make the trail more sustainable. A new section of trail was also built to bypass a pinch climb, which has greatly improved the flow and speed.
This track was originally built mostly by the late Ian "Zac" Pearson with help from the Makara Peak Supporters in 2000. Upgrade work, maintenance and trail side planting has been funded from generous grants from the Ian 'Zac' Pearson Memorial Fund, managed by the Nikau Foundation.
